Voltage and Acidity in Common Fruits, Vegetables, and Drinks

This project is about finding how acidity affects the voltage of fruits, vegetables, and drinks. I chose this project to learn how science relates to things I am eating every day. My conclusion is that fruits have the highest voltage, which is loosely correlated to Ph. My project is important because these are the items we put in our bodies every day!

  1. I really like how you tested so many different fruits, vegetables, and drinks. That shows dedication and strong scientific curiosity. Your graphs were very helpful in understanding your results, especially the voltage vs. pH graph. That shows advanced thinking in math and science. Furthermore, I was impressed that you noticed the results were not always perfectly connected. Real scientists also find exceptions, and you explained them very clearly. Overall, you collected a large amount of data and used multiple types of graphs to analyze it. That shows strong scientific reasoning. For further study, you could explain a little more about why some items (like a cucumber or a lemon) did not follow the pattern. Thinking about “why” would make your project even stronger. Great job!

The student collected a substantial amount of data, applied scientific tools appropriately, and presented the findings in a clear and logical way. The graphs and photographs help make the project easy to follow, and the experiment investigated a creative question about the effect of acidity on voltage. Overall this is a highly impressive and well-executed project.
