The Great Hot Wheels Race!

Physics and Astronomy

Grade:
K
Teacher:
Cassie Konrath

We love playing with hot wheels during play to learn time. When we were playing, we noticed the car would stop or slow down a lot when it was on the carpet and go faster on the tile or track. How does the texture of the track affect how fast the car goes?

  1. Your test of road types was set up just right to show you how friction affects our everyday lives!

  2. Wow! I loved learning about your project investigating how track texture affects the speed of your hot wheels. My favorite part was reading through your work and looking at all of your awesome drawings. I thought it was really cool how you learned along the way by working with different cars, tracks and launchers to find which ones worked best. That’s what science is all about! You did a great job explaining what happened and thinking about the next questions. I can’t wait to see what you discover next!
