I wanted to choose this topic because when my mom packs apples for me, they always turn brown, so I want to find a way to prevent that. Fruit browning is caused by several factors, including exposure to oxygen. See, when you leave a fruit like an apple outside, the molecules inside an apple, like phenols and enzyme phenolase, make that brown color appear when it is exposed to oxygen.

This is a fantastic project idea because it starts with a real-life problem you experience! I love that you noticed something happening in your everyday life and decided to investigate it scientifically. That’s exactly how strong scientists think.
You did a great job explaining the science behind fruit browning. Describing how phenols and the enzyme phenolase react with oxygen shows that you understand the chemical reaction happening inside the apple. Including that background information makes your project much stronger because it explains why the apple turns brown, not just that it turns brown.
I also appreciate how clearly you connected oxygen exposure to the browning process. That sets you up perfectly to test different methods to slow down or prevent that reaction.
This is a thoughtful, practical, and scientifically grounded project. Keep asking questions about the world around you!
great job!
A good experiment with a good presentation.
