Ready, Set, Slide! A Group Speed Study.

Our project explored whether different types of clothing affect how fast our young learners slide down the playground slide. We chose this topic because students noticed they did not always slide the same speed and wanted to know why. We tested different fabrics and measured speed by counting how many claps it took to reach the bottom. We learned that smoother fabrics like sweatpants helped students slide faster and it's important to know we can use our observations and investigate those questions around us. Keywords: Ramps, inclines, play, preschool.

I can tell that you all enjoyed testing different clothes on the slide. Such a great hands-on experience. Good job!
What a fun idea! You really explored in your own way!
The idea was very simple and playful for the kids but it is very organized and leaves a deep learning impact.
Well done, young scientists! I also loved the idea that you counted how many claps it took to get to the bottom of the slide so the more claps the slower it was, but it felt good to get the extra claps, too. Right? So you won either way!
What a fun project! You did a great job. I like your ideas for future projects too.
