This project developed and tested a biodegradable, color-changing bandage made from gelatin-based bioplastic and bromothymol blue. The bandage was designed to absorb wound fluid and visually detect infection-like alkaline conditions through pH-dependent color change. Absorbency testing, ImageJ color analysis, and statistical evaluation were used to assess performance. Results showed effective fluid absorption and rapid, significant color response under alkaline conditions, supporting its potential as a low-cost, environmentally friendly infection indicator.
