What is Important about Elasticity

My project is about tensile testing and seeing if using weights is an accurate way to measure the modulus of elasticity. I chose this project because I was fascinated by elasticity at the time and wanted to learn more about it. My conclusion is that testing with weights is accurate to a point but the tensile tester machines have weights beat. This is important because, for people who cannot access the tensile testing machine this would be the way that would test it, and knowing how accurate it is helps with that.

  1. A validated low-cost method would democratize materials testing in ways that matter for education and small-scale manufacturing. Nice work!
