My project title is Underground Hideaways: What Desert Critters Call Home. In the desert where I live, burrows help many animals survive. I studied animal burrows in the wild and in neighborhoods in the Sonoran Desert. I counted and measured burrows at three wild sites and three neighborhood sites to see how many there were and how big they were. I found more burrows in the wild, but the burrow openings were about the same size in both places. I also noticed that burrows were found in open ground and under plants. My results show that habitat can change how many burrows animals make. This means that keeping natural spaces in neighborhoods can help desert animals have safe homes.
I also live in the Sonoran Desert and found you project intreating. It was thoughtful, engaging and presented very well. It is obvious that you spent a lot of time collecting your data. Very well done!!
