Trebuchet All The Way!

What causes trebuchet to launch so far? I have noticed that trebuchet launch very far and they put weights on the trebuchet to launch. Is this just for how far the trebuchet goes, or is there something else going on? When we add different kinds of weights (Heavy and light weights) to the trebuchets, does it make the marble go farther or shorter. That’s why I thought an investigation testing to see if adding heavier weights to the trebuchet would be so interesting to compare lighter weights to heavier weights.
Nice experiment and presentation. Do you plan to continue researching trebuchets and experimenting with more/different variables?
