Ascorbic Acid levels in different Citrus Fruits. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, meaning it fights harmful toxins that come in contact with your skin either externally or from inside the body. If you lack vitamin C you may bruise or bleed easily, bleeding gums, wobbly teeth, poor wound healing, tiredness, anemia, and small red spots on the skin. Which citrus fruit has the highest ascorbic acid levels? If I analyze the ascorbic acid levels in citrus, then I can find which one of them has the highest levels. I believe out of the fruit the orange will have the highest levels. I think this because it is a well known citrus and many Vitamin C medications are orange flavored. Start by adding a couple drops of Iodine Tincature to water and set it aside. Then cut the citrus and juice them. Add a couple drops of each fruit juice into the iodine solution. The mixture that comes out the clearest is the citrus with the highest concentration of ascorbic acid. After adding 4 teaspoons of the Iodine solution, the lemon juice became a deep yellow but still transparent. Both lime and orange juice needed 6 teaspoons to change, but lime became cloudy and orange was still transparent. Grapefruit took the least amount of the solution, which meant it contained the least amount of Ascorbic Acid. The vitamin C tablet never changed from a cloudy white color showing it has the highest concentration of Ascorbic Acid. The vitamin C tablet had the highest concentration of Vitamin C. Out of the fruits lime and orange contained the most, and grapefruit contained the least.

Great work! Your project clearly demonstrates a strong level of domain knowledge, and I was particularly impressed by your ability to show that your hypothesis was not supported. That is not a setback at all, because a hypothesis is simply an informed guess that must be tested. Meaningful conclusions can only be drawn after careful experimentation and analysis.
