Timeless Blooms

This experiment will be conducted over the span of seven days. I will test four substances: flower food powder, apple cider vinegar, sugar, water, and Sprite. Each substance will be tested five times, with each plastic cup containing one red rose and one cup of water. Every few days, I will change the water for each cup and add one teaspoon of each substance to the indicated cup. Every night, I will photograph and record the results. At the end of the seven days, I hypothesize that the Sprite mixture will produce the longest lasting roses. I will then preserve the petals from the flowers that lasted the longest.

  1. I really enjoyed the practical application of your project. Your comparison of different treatments was clearly organized and easy to understand. Including more quantitative measurements of “freshness” in future trials would strengthen the scientific rigor. Excellent creativity and clear communication
