Our project explores whether Hypsibius exemplaris tardigrades can develop greater heat resistance through gradual, generational exposure to higher temperatures. Groups of tardigrades were exposed to slowly increasing and fast increasing heat levels, while control groups remained at normal temperatures. Results showed that gradual temperature increases improved survival and activity compared to rapid changes. The findings suggest that long-term exposure can enhance tardigrade adaptability and provide insight into how extremophile species evolve to withstand harsh environments.

  1. Great job! This was very well thought out and very detailed. I learned so much about Tardigrades! You all should be proud of yourselves.
