The Spheres of our Playground

Students took a deep dive into investigating what part of Earth's spheres make up our playground. Second graders analyzed data collected to see how much students learned before and after the presentation was given to another class.
Excellent job on your project! You turned your playground into a science investigation by collecting samples, sorting materials, weighing them, and making graphs. I was impressed by how carefully you observed your playground and connected your learning to Earth’s spheres. It was also wonderful that you shared your learning with other students. Your project was creative, organized, and full of strong scientific thinking. Keep up the amazing work!
How interesting! I never thought about the Earth’s spheres and how we encounter them in our lives and our playgrounds. The atmosphere, for example, is so important (it allows us to breathe!) but we don’t really notice it or are able to sample it in the same way you found all the sand, rocks, leaves, and other materials. Fascinating!
