This science project explores how different types of prompts affect the quality, clarity, and usefulness of responses generated by ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence language model. The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether specific, detailed prompts produce better results than vague or general prompts. To test this, We created multiple prompts on the same topics but varied the level of detail, structure, and instructions provided. We then compared the responses based on accuracy, depth, organization, and relevance to the request. The results showed that more specific and structured prompts consistently generated clearer, more accurate, and more detailed responses. Prompts that included context, clear instructions, and defined expectations produced the highest-quality outputs. In contrast, vague prompts often resulted in broader or less focused answers. This project demonstrates that the way a user communicates with artificial intelligence significantly impacts the outcome. Understanding how to craft effective prompts can improve learning, productivity, and problem-solving when using AI tools like ChatGPT.
