I thought of my idea because my dad had to put covers on our plants so they won't freeze to death. It was hard for him because he had to find the sheets and it was really cold and dark by the time he was done covering all our plants. I'm going to solve the problem of plants freezing overnight and also to make my dad’s job easier to protect the plants from the cold.

You did an amazing job identifying a real problem and designing a solution to protect plants from freezing. I was very impressed that you tested your first design, noticed what didn’t work, and then improved it. That is exactly how engineers think! Your brainstorming and attention to constraints show strong problem-solving skills. Keep designing creative tools to help people and plants, you have a great engineering mindset. I’m Inspired!
I liked how you chose a real problem and designed an invention to help protect plants from freezing and make the job faster and easier. You did a great job listing constraints, brainstorming, building a prototype, testing it, and then improving it with a bigger cover and a stake. Your testing notes were thoughtful because you explained what worked and what still needs fixing. Great work!
