My project is about how people have discomfort while getting an I.V. I chose this project because my mom was diagnosed with Triple Negative Aggressive breast cancer in March of 2024. For her first chemo treatments she had to get it administered through an I.V. in her arm. She says it was very uncomfortable because she didn’t have something to rest her arm in. The I.V. Buddy’s final prototype turned out to be great. The I.V. Buddy holds an arm in a safe, comfortable way, and The I.V. Buddy has a bright and colorful pattern to bring happiness. The I.V. Buddy is an important project because it brings a new take on comfort for I.V. patients, and it was accomplished in a comforting way, not cold and unwelcoming like other I.V. arm rests.

Strong real-world impact improves comfort and support for I.V. patients.
Great iteration: you found a failure (velcro) and improved the design.
This project presented a thoughtful and practical solution to help patients relax their hands during IV procedures. The idea demonstrates empathy and an understanding of patient comfort in healthcare settings. The design approach shows creativity and a strong desire to improve the medical experience.
congratulation and Goodluck
This is an absolutely beautiful project, not just because of the final product, but because of the heart and purpose behind it. You turned a difficult personal experience into something that could genuinely help others, and that is the very best kind of innovation. Teaching yourself to hand sew, testing your design on real people, and fixing problems when they came up? That’s exactly how real engineers work. Your mom must be so proud, and you should be incredibly proud of yourself too. The IV Buddy is thoughtful, creative, and made with so much care. Beautiful work!
