The Goldilocks Zone: Finding the Optimal pH for Geraniums

This project tested how soil pH affects geranium growth by growing geraniums in acidic, neutral, and alkaline soils and measuring weekly growth across two trials. Results showed geraniums in slightly acidic soil grew best, neutral soil performed moderately, and alkaline soil slowed or reduced growth. The study used six potted plants (two per pH), adjusted pH with peat moss, lemon, or alkaline water, measured pH and plant height weekly, and noted that winter testing conditions may have influenced results. Limitations include small sample size and seasonal conditions; applications include guiding gardeners and farmers to match soil pH to plant needs.
