My project, “The Effect of Wind Turbine Blade Size on Electricity Generation,” explores how changing the size of wind turbine blades affects how much electricity is produced. I chose this project because renewable energy is important for protecting our environment, and I wanted to understand how wind turbines work and how engineers can improve them. In my experiment, I tested small, medium, and large blades using a hair dryer as a wind source and measured the voltage produced. The results showed that the medium blade generated the most electricity (1.94 volts), the small blade was slightly lower (1.91 volts), and the large blade generated the least (1.05 volts) and did not turn on the LED. My overall conclusion is that blade size directly affects electricity generation, and bigger blades do not always produce more power because they may be too heavy to spin efficiently. This project is important because it helps explain how wind turbines can be designed to produce the most energy, supporting cleaner and more sustainable electricity for the future.
