The purpose of this project is to test the evapotranspiration on ocimum basilicum (basil leaves) in centimeters is to determine if using solar stills will maintain the growth of a basil plant. A container was placed in the ground draped with clear plastic on top. A basil plant was placed under the apex of the clear plastic. Water was given to the soil surrounding the basil plant.Data was collected every other day over a 10 day period. A closed watering system 2 out of 3 times decreases leaf length by 3-2 cm. A open watering system 2 out of 3 times increases the length of a basil leaf by 2.5 cm. During the 10 day trial it rained creating an error in the amount of water given to the open watering system basil plant

Great research and explanation of the process taken to get results. Information was clear and informative.
