The Bouncy Egg!

In this experiment, we tested raw eggs in different liquids to see which liquid would dissolve the egg shell. We put one egg in Coca-Cola, one egg in lemonade, and one egg in white vinegar. Each day, we observed the eggs from the outside of their container. After waiting, we took the eggs out of the container and found that the egg in white vinegar lost its shell and became squishy/bouncy. The other egg’s shells were unaltered, meaning the shell stayed hard and it did not become bouncy. Each student was able to feel the squishy egg and we all watched as I dropped it from various different heights. At first, the egg bounced on the table after being dropped, however as I continued to drop it from higher and higher, eventually the egg membrane broke open.
