1. What is your project about? Putting a battery in a hot dog to see how the battery would affect a human 1. Why did you choose this project? Because i heard that babies and small kids would swallow batteries and get injured, but you couldn’t actually see a timeline of the effects 1. What was your result/ overall conclusion? That the button battery did the most damage and was the easiest to swallow 1. Why is your project important? My project is important because it helps protect kids by showing parents what the effects can be.

You chose an important safety topic about the dangers of children swallowing batteries. Using a hot dog to represent body tissue was a creative and understandable way to model what might happen. Your research helps explain why button batteries can be dangerous and shows that you were thinking about how science can help raise awareness and protect children. This is a thoughtful project that connects science with real-world safety. Maybe adding a control hot dog with a similar-sized metal object (without a battery) would help examine whether the observed damage is related to the battery contents or the metal cover itself.
