I am doing this project because I want to learn how fiber in food affects the digestive system. This is important to me because I have Crohn’s Disease and its hard to understand which foods to eat. The doctor tells me that fiber is important in the Crohn’s diet unless having a flare up. The purpose of my project is to test how fiber affects food digestion using a model digestive system.

Good keep going
Using your personal journey with Crohn’s Disease to inspire this project is powerful. Your data clearly showed how fiber adds ‘bulk’ and changes digestion speed.
The experiment shows curiosity, clear observation, and a personal connection to the topic. You did something real scientists do which is take something from your own life, asked a question about it, built a model, and tested it. Your observations were careful and thoughtful, and your conclusion shows you’re learning how fiber behaves. That’s excellent work.
Your passion for this topic is truly inspiring! Designing a 24-inch vinyl tubing model to simulate the human digestive system was a brilliant piece of creative engineering that helped make a complex topic easy to understand.
