This project tested thermochromic paint as a heat indicator to determine how different amounts of thermochromic powder affect color change at 40 °C. Paint mixtures containing 1 g, 2 g, and 3 g of powder were applied to panels and measured using a colorimeter. Results showed that the 3-gram mixture produced the greatest overall color change, making it the most effective for detecting heat. This study demonstrates how thermochromic paint can improve safety by visually warning when surfaces are too hot to touch.

  1. Strong experiment design with a control, clear variables, and repeated trials.
Great use of a colorimeter and clear data showing 3 g produced the biggest color change.
