Temper, Temper! WILD CLAY Temper Contest

Finding the best temper to use to make "Wild Clay" into pots like the Hohokam People did. The class used 5 types of temper. They used a "Drop Test" to measure the durability of each type of temper. They also used a timed water test to find the best temper that would have the fewest cracks to let the water leak. The students want to make toys and toy dishes and sell them and play with them. This project includes chemistry involving composition, structure, and reactions of inedible matter.
