The purpose of this project was to design a box which would decrease the sound produced by an espresso machine. The nature of sound waves was studied and sound was measured using a microphone and noise level meter. Decibels were presented as a method for characterizing levels of sound and ultimate the project showed that the sound could be cut in half.

  1. Excellent engineering cycle from baseline to the prototype to improved prototype. This has clear dB data that demonstrates more‑than‑half noise reduction.
