We did a science project to learn about the sugar and dyes in breakfast foods that kids eat, especially yogurt. We thought yogurt was always healthy, but we were surprised to find that many yogurts have a lot of added sugar and artificial colors. We read nutrition labels and compared the sugar in each food to how much sugar kids should have in one day. Some foods had almost half of the daily sugar limit in just one serving. We learned that bright colors in food can come from dyes instead of real fruit. This project taught us that reading food labels helps us make healthier breakfast choices.

This is as interesting project that researches really important information that can help make everyone healthier. Great job laying presenting your research and putting together your results in a chart to show the comparison of different breakfast foods. Surprising information on some of those. I Iook forward to seeing what you do next with this work!
i enjoyed reading your work! will be on the look out too as an adult……
I really like your methodology, from using nutrition labels to investigate sugar and dyes in breakfast foods, down to the math work of calculating sugar per ounce, and making graph and model to show how much sugar is in different foods. That’s great detail.
I also like that you compared your results to the daily added sugar limit for kids.
The visual presentation of findings is well presented. Good job!
