Static Electricity

In this experiment investigated we will be testing different type of fabric produces the most static electricity when rubbed against a balloon. The fabrics we are going to test are polyester, cotton, and acrylic. Static electricity is measured by counting how many paper dots the balloon lifted.

  1. I love how you used a simple balloon and paper dots to clearly show how static electricity works. You did a great job testing each fabric multiple times and honestly reporting that your results were different from your hypothesis, which is exactly what real scientists do.

  2. This is a wonderful project, and I really enjoyed the way you presented your abstract and research questions. Your overall presentation was strong, and the way you displayed your data visually was especially well done. One thing that really stood out was how you acknowledged possible sources of error and areas for improvement — what we call “limitations” in science. That shows excellent scientific thinking and maturity. You’re on a great path to becoming an amazing scientist. Keep it up!
