My project is about designing a solar oven that produces enough heat energy to melt food items using just the sun. I chose this project because I have seen things melt in direct sunlight and I wondered if the sun could be powerful enough to cooks food. My results were that my solar oven in 70 - 73 degree heat could melt ice and chocolate at a faster rate than outside of the oven. My project is important because it can show people how we can prepare food without using so much electricity or gas and be better for the environment.

  1. Excellent work! Your solar oven design clearly showed how sunlight can be converted into heat energy. I especially liked how you tested multiple food items and included photo evidence of your results. You demonstrated a strong understanding of reflection and the greenhouse effect. Keep exploring renewable energy, you are thinking like a future engineer!
