Reusable Magnetite–Activated Carbon for PFAS Removal and Destruction via Microwave Pyrolysis

The project uses pyrolysis to destroy PFAS after adsorption to activated carbon. Magnetite is added to the activated carbon to enhance microwave activity and reach >900 oC in a common household microwave. The addition of magnetite makes thermal destruction and regeneration of activated carbon an economical remediation stategy.

  2. This project showed well researched procedures and conducted in a University laboratory setting. Applications from your study could be easily applied in real-world settings. Since you’re a senior, I would continue your research in this area when you go to a college/university. Excellent project and thank you for allowing me to review and judge it.
