My project investigates whether 8th-grade students remember information better when reading and testing on paper versus using digital Chromebook screens. I chose this because my school and others are using computers more often for school work and tests. I wanted to see which one actually helps students learn and recall information more effectively. My results showed that students taking a quiz using paper scored 2% higher on average than students who took the same quiz on a screen, proving my hypothesis that paper is less distracting and better for short-term memory. This research is important because it can help schools decide when to use digital tools and when traditional paper is better for student success.
