Since we live in a desert I thought of the idea to introduce different things to plants in the event of a drought with little water(2 cups). I thought of many ideas like different liquids and substances.Charcoal was one of them and it can be used not only for water retention but can also hold microorganisms.Another one is pinecone which has so many cool things for helping plants like holding water and letting roots breath and thrive.Additionally micro pocketing can also hold onto water through small holes made by worms or artificially with straws .I also added lemon peels and and the lemon juice which can help out the soil and when it decomposes it mixes into the soil.So we have 4 different combinations charcoal and lemons, charcoal and pinecones,micropocketing with straws and a plant with nothing and i'm gonna see which survives the longest.
