Germs (pathogens) can make humans sick, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi. Disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and objects kills germs so that people don’t get sick. This is especially important in hospitals and in locations where people with an increased risk of infection are, since they can become even more sick. Disinfectants are used to clean surfaces and kill bacteria and viruses that can cause illness, and are a good way to prevent infections. They work in different ways: destroying the cell membrane or destroying the protein envelope, however they don’t kill every single microbe. Four solutions (hospital grade disinfectant, disinfecting wipes, water & vinegar, water) were tested to determine which would remove more pathogens from a hard surface.

  2. I think this is good presentation about how different types of cleaners can really be effective or not in killing germs, bacteria and viruses. Love the fact the water and vinegar are very effective closed to the high grade hospital cleaner.
