1. What is your project about? My project is about trying to measure microplastic levels in canned sodas, and how microplastics affect humans. 1. Why did you choose this project? I wanted to do an experiment that helped people. 1. What was your result/ overall conclusion? It would appear Mountain Dew had the most microplastics and Pepsi Zero had the least microplastics. I also found that over-consumption of microplastics can lead to cancer or severe illnesses. 1. Why is your project important? It is hopefully going to make people more mindful before drinking a soda so that they lower their risk of a severe illness or cancer.

  1. This is a beneficial project. I believe that this project should be pursued further because it will help reduce the amount of microplastics used to produce soda, which will help enhance health in society.

  2. This is a really important topic. Currently, scientists measure microplastics in food through a multi-step process involving sampling, intensive digestion of organic matter (using enzymes or chemicals like KOH), and separation by density. It is such an important topic that deserves more attention and feedback. I hope you are one day in the lab working on how to minimize this important health risk!
