Methylotrophic bacteria are a special type of bacteria that can live off simple carbon chemicals like methanol or methane, things most other organisms can’t use for energy. They’re found almost everywhere, including soil, lakes, oceans, and even on plant leaves, which is what we used for this project. In this project we will be focusing if we can isolate Methylotrophic bacteria from live leaves.
