We learned that flooding can cause severe damage to towns. More specifically we learned that here in Tucson there is a community affected by this. Tucson’s east-side neighborhood, 49er Country Club Estates, has to deal with the issue of flooding since they vetoed a levee in 1993. Our class wanted to see if we could design levees to help remedy the situation.
Fantastic work, engineers! I love how you tackled a real problem in your community and used the engineering design process to create, test, and improve your levees.
