The students investigated how magnets affect the the growth of radish seeds. They did research to learn about how magnetic fields affect living things and plants specifically. This is a second year study for one of the partners. More research information about a possible effect of magnets on plants was found this year. The procedure from last year was refined to include bigger pots with drainage as well as multiple small magnets with precise placement in the pots. Students collected data and compared the number of sprouts in each plant group as well as the height of the plants in centimeters.
Interesting experimental question with a clear comparison between magnetic and control conditions.

I am very proud of the work these scientists did for five months on their project. They did research and investigated using scientific thinking and analysis. When their plants died during the experiment, they showed another level of effort and perseverance when they had to restart twice! You should be proud of yourselves, Alicia and Ianelys. Keep noticing, wondering, and investigating to find answers to your questions. The sky is the limit for you! 🤩
