Improving DNA Extraction and Amplification Techniques in Native Arizona Bees

Students assesed several changes from previous years to observe whether they attained better results with collecting and DNA sequencing bees collected near Sahuarita High School. First, they modified the way transects were placed in the hopes to discourage wildlife interference. Second, they used a different PCR primer that would hopefully yield a higher amplification rate among different bee varieties.
