Improving a Nectar Feeder for Woodpeckers

My project is about designing and improving a nectar (sugar water) feeder for woodpeckers. I chose this project because I am interested in birds and how birds interact with humans and man-made objects. My conclusion is that woodpeckers take some time to become used to man-made objects, but eventually interact with them if there is something that they want or need. My project is important because it may help attract Gila Woodpeckers for bird watching and interacting.

  1. I love the gila woodpeckers in my yard, too. Thank you for this useful project!!

  2. Excellent project idea, and such useful information that could be extrapolated to design feeders to hold grape jelly for orioles. Keep up the awesome engineering to keep our bird friends happy and fed.
