1. What is your project about? My project is about how someone’s age affects their ability to tell the difference between AI and human generated text. 1. Why did you choose this project? I chose this project because I was curious about whether age mattered in telling the difference between human and AI. I was wondering because my grandma showed me a picture of something and she told me, “look how cool this is!” I told her that it was AI and she was surprised. I was thinking about it and realized that it would be a good science fair project idea. 1. What was your result/ overall conclusion? Telling the difference between AI and human generated text is very hard. The age group with the highest average number of questions answered correctly was the 66 and up, and they got, on average, 5.2/10 questions correct. 1. Why is your project important? This project is important because we don’t really know a lot about AI yet, and this project shows the older people, who have been exposed to it longer, could tell the difference better.
