The project is about how well or unwell the lima bean grows its roots in different concentrations of salt. I chose this because the lima bean is being seriously considered by many governments around the world as an emergency food source in the event of the existing food system's collapse. The overall conclusion was that higher concentrations of salt severely inhibit the plant's development of roots. This project is important because it could help solve food shortages and other famines worldwide by creating a strategy for how to maintain the lima bean and distribute it properly.
