How Do Saguaros Stay Hydrated

Plants and the Environment

Grade:
1
Teacher:
Madhavi Rachakonda

These students want to investigate how saguaro cacti stay hydrated in the desert by studying their structure and water-storage abilities. They explored how saguaros collect, store, and use water efficiently to survive in hot, dry environments, helping us understand how plants adapt to extreme conditions.

  1. Great experiment! You followed the scientific process very well. I appreciate that you learned about the difference between dependent and independent variables – very important! And how cool that you are already thinking about future experiments based on the results of this one. You are true scientists!!!

  2. This is a nice initiative and well-presented too. I love it! Congratulations on presenting your class project at SARSEF. I look forward to more fascinating works that you will showcase at future events. Keep up the great work that you are doing.
