How can the ingredients in different heat protectants affect how much damage it causes to your hair?

We first became interested in the experiment because we both use heat on our hair frequently and were wondering how we could help ourselves and others by finding the best working heat protectant. Our hypothesis was “If a brand of heat protectant uses ingredients that are tested to work effectively for hair protection, then it should increase the amount of times you can run a straightener over the hair without it getting negatively affected because it has received good feedback and has helpful ingredients.” Our hypothesis was proven. After completing this experiment, we found out that Amora was the best working heat protectant and Hot Sexy hair was the worst working protectant.
