How Can I Make Nail Polish Last Longer?

1. What is your project about? My project is about nail polish. I wanted to know how to make nail polish stronger as this is a problem I face. 1. Why did you choose this project? I chose this project because I love to paint my nails. I think it is a very fun way to express yourself! But when I paint my nails and a corner lifts up or it chips then I start to pick at it and when I peel or rip nail polish off of my nails it is stripping layers off of my nails which is very painful and is causing them to become extremely weak. So I want to find a way to make nail polish last longer so I take off my nail polish when I get sick of the color or design with substances that are safe for my nails, not when it has already started to peel and chip. 1. What was your result/ overall conclusion? My overall conclusion is that adding acetone to nail polish to make it thinner so that it does not peel, does not work. It just makes it very clumpy. I also learned that adding top coat to your nail polish to make it stronger does not work and makes it also very clumpy. 1. Why is your project important? Why my project is important is because when you have your nails painted you should be proud of them and should want to show them off. But when your nail polish chips or peels right away you might want to try and hide your nails because you might be embarrassed. Also for people like me who need something to fidget with, sometimes when your nails are just there and they have already started to peel or chip you might just keep going to pick off the polish. Which leaves your nails very damaged and weak, and sometimes can be painful.
