My project is about seeing which liquid will make the gummies grow the most. I wanted to see the reaction that would affect the gummies the most. My conclusion was that pure water grew the gummy the most. My project is important because it shows how scientific ideas connect to real life and help people understand why some materials change when they interact with water.
This is a fun, creative, and scientifically strong experiment! Testing how different liquids — water, Coca-Cola, lemon juice, Sprite, and sparkling water — affect the size of a gummy candy shows great curiosity and careful thinking. You took something simple and turned it into a real science investigation.
Your experiment demonstrates an important scientific concept called osmosis. Gummy candies are made of gelatin and sugar, which form a kind of soft network. When you place a gummy in liquid, water can move into or out of the candy depending on the concentration of sugar and other substances in the liquid. If the liquid has less dissolved sugar than the gummy, water moves into the gummy and makes it grow. If the liquid has more sugar or acid, the gummy may grow less — or even shrink.
I especially like that you compared multiple liquids instead of just one. Water, soda, lemon juice, and sparkling drinks all have different amounts of sugar, carbonation, and acidity. That makes your experiment more interesting and meaningful.
