Glow Rope 2.0 is addressing the current issues with commercial light up jump ropes by designing and constructing a light up jump rope to use when doing jumb rope performances in the dark. My jump rope team the Tucson Twist-It's and other teams around the world do not currently have highly functional light up jump ropes. Most light up jump ropes are very stiff, don't light up properly, and are way too heavy or way too light. I constructed 2 prototype light up jump ropes and tested the functionalilty. Both ropes were usable. Overall, the Variety Rope received the highest scores with the best lighting when the rope turned. While this rope was a bit heavy, it shows that one could be made lighter with additional prototypes. This would benefit the jump rope community and audiences observing the beautiful night lights.
