This study investigates the potential of Buffelgrass, an invasive plant species in Yuma, Arizona, as a sustainable roof insulation material. By testing panels with different layer thicknesses under simulated heat exposure, the project evaluates how insulation thickness affects surface temperature and heat transfer. Results show that increasing Buffelgrass layers improves thermal resistance, suggesting its potential as a low-cost, eco-friendly insulation alternative for hot desert environments.
