Many individuals rely on commercially produced pH indicators, which can be costly and are not typically food-safe. In contrast, homemade pH indicators offer a cost-effective and food-grade alternative. This accessibility may be particularly beneficial for individuals with health conditions such as acid reflux, as it enables them to monitor the acidity of foods and make more informed dietary decisions. Coffee filter Ph indicator: A Ph indicator made out of strips of coffee filters soaked in boiled red cabbage juice.
