Extendable Saddle Pad

For my project I wanted to make a saddle pad that would benefit equestrians. Most of the time they only use one horse at a time yet they (horses) could be different sizes. So instead of having 3 saddle pads for 3 different sized horses that only are to be used one at a time, why not have 1 saddle pad that fits them all? A base for a big horse, a medium pad for a cob, and a pony size for a pony or foal. So having one saddle pad for all sizes would be beneficial to save time, space, and money. I chose this project because at my ranch we have 3 different sized horses and SO many pads for their fitting size. With our new filly, her (wide) mama, sister, and father that are all unlike the others, I'll have one pad that fits them all. My overall result was pretty good! Of course there was trial and error but the end result was amazing! This project would affect mostly equestrians because they would be the ones using the saddle pad for a better ride, more comfort, and won't break the bank.
Very clever using everyday household items to adapt a specialized piece of equine equipment! And also figuring out the cost to make them and how that compares to market! It also looks like you kept the zippers on the saddle and not horse side of the pad. I wonder – did the zipper or button mark or scrape your saddle? Did the horses behave any differently with your one saddle pad vs their regular one?
