Engineering The Art of "SHHHH": Which material blocks sound the best?

Physics and Astronomy

Grade:
1
Teacher:
Stephanie Oddo

Along the halls of early childhood development, Kindergarten and First graders chatter and giggle as they file to and from the classrooms. Sharing this busy hallway are preschoolers napping off a morning of play and crafts. Our problem is that the noise we make in the hallway keeps waking the napping preschoolers. What device or material would be best to muffle the sounds of excited school children as the pass by the napping preschoolers?

  1. Great job following the scientific process!! I congratulate this class on the time and effort they spent to run so many experiments (7 boxes) and not only record the data, but help put it together in an easy to read presentation. It’s so important to think about what you could do differently in the future – a scientists job is never done!!!

  2. Hello Team,

This is a very nice initiative. I love the project and the way it is presented. Good job!
