Earthquake Science: Would a System Stop an Earthquake?

My project is about understanding how earthquakes occur and exploring whether a system could stop or reduce the impact of an earthquake. I studied how seismic waves travel and tested a model to see if certain materials or structural designs could absorb vibrations and decrease shaking. I chose this project because earthquakes cause serious damage to buildings and communities, and I wanted to investigate possible ways to make structures safer. Based on my results, I concluded that earthquakes cannot be completely stopped since they are caused by the natural movement of tectonic plates, but systems and improved building designs can significantly reduce their effects. This project is important because it helps us learn how to better protect people and property, especially in areas that are prone to earthquakes.
