Does your Birth Order correlate with growth Achievement on MAP?

The purpose of this project was to find out if birth order is related to growth on the MAP test. Our class recently took the MAP assessment and showed 91% growth in math and 70% growth in reading. Since our classroom has students with different birth orders, we wanted to see if birth order affected MAP growth scores. We collected data from our classroom and sorted students into birth order groups: first born (5 students), middle child (4 students), third born (12 students), and only child (2 students). We compared the MAP math and reading growth for each group. The data were organized and studied to look for patterns between birth order and growth.
